Good medium red. Expressive, slightly musky scents of raspberry, smoked meat and minerals. Like liquid silk on entry, then powerful yet weightless in the middle, conveying a restrained sweetness to its very rich flavors of red fruits, minerals and dried flowers. Clearly the ripest of these 2015s, finishing with a medicinal firmness but very suave tannins and subtle building sweetness. There's a lot of wine here. As with the 2016 Griottes, this is clearly the best wine of the range.

Bright red-ruby. Lovely perfumed scents of blackberry and violet. Dense but wonderfully light on its feet, conveying a strong impression of energy to its fine-grained yet explosive flavors of raspberry, cherry and minerals. A step up from the Charmes in sheer sappiness. Finishes with utterly suave tannins and terrific length and verve. Dynamic and impeccably balanced.
There is just one and a half barrels of the 2015 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru this year, so good luck finding it. The nose was cut from the same cloth as the Charmes-Chambertin: sultry and bashful at first, demanding a lot of coaxing from the glass. However, it repays patience and after three to four minutes, it unfolded with tempting redcurrant, cranberry and wet limestone scents that are very well defined. The palate is linear, structured and very focused. This is not a flamboyant Griotte-Chambertin, but you can feel that energy pulsating through the wine. There is superb tension and energy here, very sophisticated and without question the best Griotte-Chambertin that I have tasted at Dugat, perhaps an omen of treasure to come from the domaine in future years.
