The 2015 Vosne-Romanée Village has quite a subtle bouquet that is more feminine and understated than the Chambolle and Morey-Saint-Denis counterparts. The palate is medium-bodied with a spicy note on the entry, a crisp line of acidity, orange rind infusing the red and black fruit, leading to a pleasing sappy finish. This is satisfactory for a Vosne-Romanée Village.

(made from parcels in Aux Ormes and Champs Goudins): Full ruby-red. Very ripe black fruit and dark chocolate aromas are lifted by a violet note. Savory, slightly high-toned wine with lovely intensity and violet lift. Can't quite match the texture or breadth of the Morey-Saint-Denis but this is dense and strong for village wine. Finishes with a firm spine of tannins and a lingering note of licorice. This village wine will need at least a couple years of patience upon release.

Once again there is enough reduction present to mask everything but the spice nuances that can also be found on the velvety and sleek middle weight flavors that possess a really lovely texture while exhibiting fine length and balance on the firm and serious finale.
