Score 93-95/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound
(from a .44 ha parcel of 90+ year old vines situated directly across from Chambertin; the yields are so low and the vines so exposed that Bachelet says that he always harvests this parcel first). Here too there is moderate wood framing more elegant and more complex aromas that are composed by spice, earth and essence of red berry fruit liqueur scents. The cool, restrained, classy and equally pure medium-bodied flavors are supported by super-refined tannins yet the naturally sweet finish is powerful and hugely long. The structure is dense but fine and while this seems deceptively approachable, it’s going to require at least 12 to 15 years to arrive at its full apogee. Wonderful. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
