Score 87-80/100 · Drink 2019-2026, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2015
Moderately saturated palish medium red. Sweet aromas of blueberry, cherry, rose petal, licorice and vanillin oak. Sweet and dense if a bit youthfully clenched, showing good body to its redcurrant and spice flavors. Finishes firmly tannic and persistent, with good lift. This was the first wine to finish its malolactic fermentation and is a bit ahead of the others in its development.
