Tasting notes
The 2011 Pommard 1er Cru Les Grands Epenots is a very fine wine in a difficult vintage, wafting from the glass with a complex bouquet of orange rind, sweet red fruits and loamy soil. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, elegant and deep, with fine-grained tannins and a sweet core of fruit. By the standards of Gaunoux's Grands Epenots, it's unusually open and accessible.

About the producer

Domaine Michel Gaunoux is today run by Michel’s grandchildren, Anne and Alexandre, with a guiding hand from their mother. Everything here is extremely traditional, and the family has been quietly making rich, complex and age-worthy Pommard and Corton for over half a century.
