2013 Mazis Chambertin

Newman's 2013 Mazis-Chambertin is surprisingly powerful and supple at this stage, with quite a bit of density on the mid-palate and finish, but less in the way of the characteristic Mazis aromatics. Although a bit atypical, the Mazis holds considerable promise. If the aromatics open up, the 2013 will be even better than this note suggests.
