The 2012 Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Lavières from Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair reveals a perfumed and rich bouquet of red-black fruit, dried rose petal, espresso roast and rich soil. On the palate, the wine is sapid, generous and medium-full, its tannins already melting away, its finish perfumed but a little ephemeral.

Tasted at the Comte Liger-Belair vertical at the Château de Vosne. The 2012 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Lavières has a fragrant and floral bouquet: red cherries, crushed strawberry fruit and a touch of freshly squeezed orange. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly gamy entry, well-judged acidity, a pinch of black pepper sprinkled over the finish. This is simply excellent. Tasted June 2015.
Musky aromas of redcurrant and raspberry. At once juicy and glyceral, with a soil-driven saline character to the red fruit and smoke flavors. Finishes with ripe tannins and good persistence.
Vosne side. Tiny cuvée of one barrel. Rich on the nose and quite dense and ripe on the palate. Quite obviously superior. (JR)

Since its rebirth in 2000, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair has quickly become one of the most highly sought-after producers in Vosne-Romanée. The most prized wine from the estate is their monopole Grand Cru La Romanée.
