Tasting notes
From 55 year old vines, only 2100 bottles made. Sweet red fruit on the nose with hints of grilling herbs and alpine scents. Layers of black and red fruit, wild herbs and baking spices can be found n the palate in deep concentrations.. Firmly structured tannins are in tune with fine acidity. The spicy tones out-perform the fruit in this wine and linger long into the finish. Delicious. Dec 2015

Her parcel is close to the forest. She lays human hair to stop forest fauna eating vines. A bit of chaptalisation. Next to Chantal Remy. Really rather luscious fruit. Lots of sweet unformed fruit and a strong sinewy framework. Great effect. Racy. (JR)
About the producer

Situated in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Tortochot may not carry the cachet of the very top domaines in the village, but it does offer some of the best value, producing wines with great terroir transparency in their top Premiers and Grands Crus, and fabulous village wines.
