Tasting notes
Only 2 barrels made. Incredibly pretty nose of sweet violets, iris, blackberry, raspberry and kirsch. The palate has great vibrancy with concentrated pure fruit and silky tannins. Density and lightness are in perfect doses. Flavours of sun-ripened raspberry, cherry, cranberry, black currants and minerals. Elegant, pure and long...stunning.Dec 2015

(Boillot's fruit comes from 50+-year-old vines that produced 30 hectoliters per hectare in 2014; there's one new and one one-year-old barrel of this juice): Bright, dark red. Brooding, classic Bonnes-Mares aromas of black cherry, wild dark berries, mocha, licorice, brown spices, menthol, stone and roasted herbs. A pure, velvety confection in the mouth; wonderfully subtle and suave but also sharply chiseled and penetrating thanks to its powerful spine of acids and tannins. This outstanding expression of stony soil finishes with superb length and lift.
About the producer

Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
