The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Etelois is more backward, more reticent than the 2014 Les Jeunes Rois when I tasted it at the domaine. There are red fruit here - but they curled up in a tight fist. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. Quite brisk, more linear than the Les Jeunes Rois but with equal length. This is nicely detailed, perhaps less approachable but still it will offer surprising intellect for a village cru.
About the producer

Domaine Duroché has, under Pierre Duroché, become one of the most sought-out and respected wine domaines in Gevrey-Chambertin. The wines are delicate and detailed, yet with old-vine intensity, a clear sense of place and style – and it’s easy to see why they’ve rapidly become so in-demand.
