Score 93/100 · Whisky Advocate, Dec 2024
Aromas of dried pear, green apple, lemon peel, beautifully integrated smoke, lanolin, antiseptic, and beach bonfire embers. Sweeter than most Lagavulins, with vanilla ice cream, it has its characteristic punchy pepper, plus a slight minerality this year, along with flavors of green apple, sweet vanilla, and fudge against a backdrop of peat smoke. Plenty of grip on the finish, with smoke and spice; this shows everything Lagavulin can do to your palate.
