Medium red. More reduced than the basic village offering, showing more smoke and soil tones than primary fruit today. Sweet and dense but youthfully tight; thicker than the foregoing sample but with less lift than the 2010 version of this wine. Finishes plummy and persistent.

First vintage bottled separately. Not such an enormous aromatic contrast with the regular village wine as in 2010. Wild and much more luscious in terms of texture though. Silky tannins and just a little bit earthbound by its volume. Very fresh and lively. (JR)
(from vines between 30 and 40 years of age; bottled the week before my visit) Medium red. Ripe plum, mocha and chocolate on the nose; less black than the basic village offering. Plump and pliant, with strong plum and chocolate flavors carrying through in the mouth. A very lush, broad wine with an edge of acidity on the back. With its restrained sweetness, this struck me as rather Bordeaux-like.
Biodynamic. First year it has been bottled separately. Bright crimson. Very juicy and friendly on the nose. A very big step up from the village blend. Some real freshness and life here. A teensy bit dry on the end but very serious and fine. (JR)
