The 2006 Chardonnay Selezione combines intense fruit and equally incisive minerality. Yellow peaches with a leaning towards the tropical lead to floral honey, spices and minerals as this textured, layered Chardonnay opens up in the glass. The 2006 Selezione is notable for its dazzling purity, depth and exceptional overall balance. It is yet another showstopper from Kante. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. What can I say about the wines I tasted at Kante? Words are pretty superfluous when confronted with this stunning overall level of quality. Edi Kante’s wines are at once intensely varietal yet also imbued with the deepest sense of the Carso, the rocky, hillside stretch of mountains where these vineyards lie.
