Tasting notes
Flowers and candied black cherries are found in the nose of the 2003 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru. Medium to full-bodied, silky-textured, and supple, it is filled with spicy, toasty black cherry flavors that linger in its long, suave finish. Drink it over the next 9 years. Dee p ruby-red. Black fruits, mocha, animal fur and spicy oak on the nose. Quite firm and juicy, with sharply delineated flavors of cassis, blackberry, minerals and spices. Not especially fleshy but considerably more pliant than the Coeur de Roy, which is almost brutal next to this wine.
