Medium red. Complex nose hints at licorice, smoked meat and truffle. Sweet, rich, layered and deep, with good energy from the limestone soil. Not a fat wine but possesses bright red fruit flavors and finishes with fine tannins and very good length. Not obviously 2003 in style.

Cookie dough drenched in red cherries and roses is found in the aromatic profile of the 2003 Clos Vougeot. A big, deep, intense wine, its supple attack offers loads of red cherry flavors. Medium to full-bodied and sweet, this offering is firmly tannic in the finish, demanding cellaring. Projected maturity: 2009-2017. About the producer
Based south of Nuits-Saint-Georges in Prémeaux-Prissey, Domaine de la Vougeraie was created in 1999, grouping all of Jean-Claude Boisset’s holdings under one name. The property has a total 40 hectares of vines, with extensive holdings in Vougeot as well as plots in six Grands Crus.
