Tasting notes
Medium red. Slightly reduced aromas of red cherry, licorice and flowers. Suave on entry, then round and juicy in the middle, with captivating mineral lift to the flavors of redcurrant, raspberry and spices. A rather elegantly styled, juicy wine and not at all a blockbuster despite its impressively richness and depth. There's nothing hard or coarse about this '05.

(racked in September following a late malo) Good bright, full red. Highly perfumed aromas of red cherry, flowers and minerals, with an almost medicinal suggestion of licorice. Suave and fine on the palate, with the floral character adding a perfumed quality to the wine's palate-coating fruit. Round and supple but with real energy and sap. Finishes long and aromatic, with nicely buffered tannins. This always has the highest pH in the cellar, but the balance works well in 2005.
