Good, bright full red. Tangy red cherry and raspberry aromas complicated by flowers and spices. In a distinctly cooler style, without quite the depth of the two Nuits premier crus. Black cherry and mineral flavors are joined on the end by pepper and herb notes. A bit less mid-palate flesh here to support the firm tannins.
An exuberantly spicy nose offers up notes of plum, violet, purple fruit and a hint of wood toast. The lush and beguilingly textured medium weight flavors possess good concentration and a fleshy palate impression before terminating in a firm and persistent finish where the fine-grained tannins are well-integrated. This is a bit more structured than it usually is. Tasted: Jan 14, 2013. Drink: 2021+
