(just three barrels made, one new; from darker soil): Good dark red. Soil-driven aromas of blackberry, coffee, mocha, brown spices and menthol. Silky, thick and impressively concentrated, with an explosive flavor of black cherry jelly complicated by spicy oak. Most impressive today on the building, very long finish, which features noble tannins.
Dark crimson. Light scent and some really satisfying concentration on the palate.Very solid indeed with marked tannins. This will probably get there in the end. (JR)
