Good full red. Musky nose dominated by mocha; less pure and primary than Mortet's better Gevreys. Supple and creamy, with a slightly medicinal menthol element. This has lift in the mouth but I was troubled by a dry spot in the middle and on the finish. Can't match the Gevreys for fruit or cut. Mortet admitted that this vineyard was the most affected by hail of his holdings. By knocking off a lot of leaves, the hail storm affected the ripening process, he explained.
