Finer and purer, thus more earthy and less fruit-intense on the nose than the Domprobst Riesling Spätlese #10, is the flinty 2012 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese #05, although it reveals its ripe fruit (peach, grapefruit) aromas the more air it gets. On the palate this is a very delicate, precise, balanced and nicely piquant Riesling of great elegance provided with a salty sweetness. The finish is pure and zesty; the wine a hymn to finesse.

Lightly stinky nose with a strong mineral streak. Lots of sweetness and the merest hint of sherbet and someting metallic. (JR)
