Tasting notes
The estate's entry-level Torrione has consistently been an outstanding wine, as it is again in 2005. It reveals gorgeous purity in its sweet, ripe fruit, with its signature plumpness beautifully balanced by finessed tannins. The wine offers superb depth and lovely density, both of which were elusive in 2005. Simply put, this is one of the finest wines of the vintage and readers won't want to miss it.

Anticipated maturity: 2009-2015. Once again proprietor Luca Sanjust and his team have fashioned a compelling set of new releases. Importer: Vintus LLC, Pleasantville, NJ tel. (914) 769-3000
