Good deep red. Sexy aromas of redcurrant, flowers and underbrush. At once sweet and saline on the palate, with a lovely creaminess for the vintage. Has the mid-palate stuffing to buffer its tannins. I'd give this three or four years of cellaring but it also has the texture and sweetness to provide early enjoyment.

Big, bold and a little cheesy on the nose. There is some transparency here and this wine is clearly superior to the rest of the range. Dry finish but lots of rich, reverberant fruit on the way there. (JR)
Deep, bright red-ruby. Cassis and smoky oak on the slightly reduced nose. Sweet, pliant and generous, with harmonious ripe acidity giving shape to the seamless, creamy mid-palate. This wine has been suave from day one, notes Lachaux. Finishes with fine tannins and a distinctly sappy quality. Lachaux believes that his 2011s "will be good early and late."
The expressive nose displays enough wood to notice on the fresh and ripe mix of red and blue pinot fruit with plenty of natural spice and earth notes in evidence. There is good richness and excellent volume to the robust and tautly muscular flavors that possess a textured, indeed even seductive mouth feel before terminating in a velvety and highly persistent finish.
