Score 92/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2019
The 1976 Echézeaux Grand Cru is another wine from DRC that attests to how well the 1976s have matured, almost enjoying a second wind in its maturity. The nose offers brambly red fruit, Earl Grey, black truffle and a touch of pain d'épice. The palate is underpinned by slightly rustic tannins and yet you have to admire its energy. There’s just a little dryness toward the finish, but otherwise this is showing beautifully. (NM)
