Score 87/100 · Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2013

Served blind, the 1980 Musigny for de Vogue has a furry, ferrous bouquet with scents of beef stock, scorched leather and fennel emerging with time. This is an unapologetically rustic bouquet, lacking the breeding of more recent vintages. The palate has sharp acidity and there is no way you would describe it as harmonious, but rather, hanging on by its frayed seams. It is charming, but animally and clumsy on the finish. This is an agreeable Musigny but it is probably past its best. Tasted June 2013.

The 1980 Domaine Comte de Vogüé Musigny was impossible to assess as it was slightly off.
