Tasting notes
Red-ruby. Very ripe nose dominated by cherry. Sweet, rich and dense, with the lush texture of the vintage. The flavors of raspberry, cherry and game are just this side of raisiny. Ripe tannins are buried under chocolatey fruit.

A wine with stunning aromatics, the 2003 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuees bursts forth with scents of jammy red cherries and bilberries. Medium to full-bodied and sappy, it is plush, oily-textured, crammed with cherries, and – after considerable searching – reveals an underlying structure of super sweet tannin. Medium red. Aromas of raspberry and blackberry show more floral lift than the village wine. Atypically rich and sweet for this wine, with a distinct component of chocolatey torrefaction, but with more nervosite than the village wine. Finishes with very fine tannins.
Cask sample. Very powerfully fruity nose and bright colour. Extremely sweet and gentle – almost simple. Tannins hardly noticeable though the low acid is. Very charming if a little disconcertingly evolved. (JR)
