Tasting notes
Concentrated, resolved nose. Round and sweet. Lots of concentration. Over-delivery. No excess alcohol or oak. Well made! GV (JR)

Another excellent value from this appellation adjacent to Pomerol, this 2009 is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. This estate has been owned by the Baron Guichard family since 1932. Attractive truffle, graphite and plum notes intermixed with mocha and black cherry cascade from the glass of this supple, chunky, fleshy wine. There is good glycerin, purity and overall character to this wine, which can be drunk over the next decade.
Hint of wet hessian on the nose, and then very sweet and polished. Just not much core and pretty drying on the end. A touch inky and drying on the end. (JR)
