Tasting notes
Fashioned from a Mortet monopole, the 2003 Gevrey-Chambertin en Motrot reveals aromas of spices and black cherries. Medium-bodied and well-structured, it offers a silky-textured, persistent personality filled with spicy black fruits. Drink it over the next 6 years. Importer: Martine’s Wines, Novato, CA; tel. Bright red-ruby. Moderately ripe but nuanced aromas of black raspberry, smoke, coffee and game. Silky and sweet, with flavors of raspberry, game and chocolatey oak. This should give early pleasure. It's hard to imagine a wine like this ever really shutting down in bottle.
About the producer

This estate, today with Arnaud Mortet at the helm, makes some of Gevrey-Chambertin’s finest wines. Working with 16 hectares, as well as a few négociant parcels, this property makes perfumed and chiselled Pinot Noir.
