Deep red. Sexy aromas and flavors of black raspberry, leather and game; a real essence of its village. Crisp and juicy, with firm acid spine keeping the wine tight in the early going. This will need a few years of patience.

Good deep red. Reduced aromas of wild dark fruits and game, with a suggestion of superripeness. Sweet, lush and palate-coating, with impressive volume for a village wine. Plenty of stuffing here to buffer the building tannins. Less elegant and perfumed than the '06 but larger.

A mild touch of reduction knocks the nose down but it's clear that the medium-bodied flavors are slightly riper than those of the Bourgogne with good detail and a subtle mineral streak that runs the length of the wine and adds a sense of firmness to the structured and very Gevrey finish. Good quality here. Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jan, 2009
