Pale to medium brick in color, the 1945 Clos de Sarpe opens out to reveal stunning notes of incense, exotic spices, black truffles and powdered cinnamon stick over a core of dried figs, raisin cake and prunes plus a touch of dried lavender. Medium to full-bodied, it has a spicy dried fruit core with tons of mineral sparks and a soft, silt-like texture, finishing with amazing persistence. Truly, this is as delicious as it is intellectually stimulating and historically fascinating!
