Deep red. Complex, soil-inflected aromas of Christmas spices, gunpowder, espresso and black pepper. Suave and velvety in the mouth, with very ripe flavors of black cherry, graphite and exotic fruits, plus a hint of white rose. This boasts very smooth tannins. One of the best of the non-Jadot vinifications in '97.
