Good deep red. Deep, complex, soil-driven aromas of red fruits, roasted vegetables, herbs, mint and underbrush. Sweet, large-scaled and powerful, with excellent density for the vintage. The combination of sappy fruit and strong minerality is almost painful today. Impressive and very young.
Gorgeous scents of plummy, spicy red fruits emanate from the glass of the ruby-colored 2001 Clos de la Roche. Light to medium-bodied, juicy, and delineated, this is a succulent, lively wine. It reveals loads of vivacious red and black cherries in its flavorful, elongated character. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2012. Importers: Chambers & Chambers, Inc., San Francisco, CA; tel.
