Tasting notes
The 1982 was never terribly well-endowed, and it now appears to have completely fallen off the cliff. Weedy and vegetal with meager fruit as well as depth, it is all acidity and tannin with shallow flavors. It is a mere caricature of a great Bordeaux. Release price: ($115.00/case)

Quite pale brownish colour. Brûlée nose. Falling apart. Very, very chewy and medicinal. (JR)
A rich, plush wine. Shows blackberry and chocolate character, with a hint of cedar. Full-bodied and thick, yet very velvety, with lots of sweet fruit on the finish.--1982 Bordeaux horizontal. Drink now. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 1998

About the producer

The Chanel group purchased Margaux Second Growth Ch. Rauzan-Ségla in 1994. Under the iconic fashion house’s ownership and – since 2014 – the guidance of winemaker Nicolas Audebert, the estate has seen significant investment and rapidly become one of Bordeaux’s most desirable.
