Tasting notes
Produced from old vines (75-80% are over 100 years old!) in the La Bussiere vineyard, this dark-colored wine ("vieilles vignes" may or may not appear on the label) has violets, roses, lilies, candied blueberries, raspberries, and minerals on the nose. This magnificent wine has extraordinary breadth, a medium-to-full-body, a silky texture, and a hugely complex core of wild blueberries, brambleberries, cassis, stones, and gravel that last throughout its long and soft finish. Drink it between 2001 and 2007. This are 1996s not to be missed! Bravo! to Christophe Perrot-Minot. Represented by Russell Herman, Berkeley Heights, NJ; tel (908) 771-9082. Various Importers, including V.O.S. Selections, NY & NJ; Hartley & Parker, CT; Vintage Wines, IL; De Gustibus Imports, WA; Esquin Imports, CA, Yankee Spirits, MA.
