The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny floats across the palate with red berries, wild flowers and spices. I can't see any reason to delay gratification. The Chambolle is a great example of the delicious wines that are found at the village level in 2009. A textured, highly expressive finish rounds out this sensual beauty.

The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny is flat-out gorgeous. It shows fabulous depth and dimension in its dark red cherries, rose petals and spices. The 2009 is sensual, round and perfumed, yet at the same time possesses quite a bit of texture. This is a relatively full-bodied style of village level Chambolle, as the parcels are on the border with Morey, just below Bonnes-Mares and Sentiers. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. My tasting at Dujac was one of the highlights of the two weeks I spent in Burgundy in late November/early December 2011. I tasted through all the 2010s in barrel and 2009s in bottle. The domaine’s 2009s are among the wines of the vintage. Importers: The Sorting Table, Napa, CA; tel. (415) 491-4724; Martin Scott Wines, Little Neck, NY; tel. The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny shows plenty of village character in its silky fruit and open, expressive bouquet. This classy, accessible Chambolle is an excellent choice for near-term enjoyment.

Bright red-ruby. Very ripe aromas of raspberry and blueberry, with game and mineral hints and some sweet oak showing. Lush, sweet and full, with chocolatey oak currently giving the wine a rather chunky quality. This very ripe wine finishes with very suave, sweet tannins. The Seysses family extracts gently here due to the tendency of these vines to produce high tannin levels.
