A little more spice and depth than the village wine but otherwise rather similar in character. Dry, fine tannins, fresh finish. Harmonious and gently spiced on the finish. Persistent too. (JH)

Monopole. Bright cherry fruit, light palate, very spiky acid. A light dusting of tannin – precociously charming, but a little insubstantial. (RH)
Bright medium red. Liqueur-like cherry and spices on the inviting nose. Dense and savory on the palate, with very good cut and saline complexity to the flavors of dark cherry, rose petal and spices. Finishes youthfully medicinal, persistent and perfumed, with excellent structure for Mercurey. The crop level here was about 40 hectoliters per hectare, or about 10% lower than usual, noted Bernard Hervet.

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most important wine producers. The family-owned estate, now in the hands of the seventh generation, is one of the largest in the region, with significant holdings in both the Côte d’Or and the Côte Chalonnaise.
