Rather tired-looking grey-crimson. Hot, warm and raisiny. A little simple but brash and full of fruit. Round and powerful with dark chocolate notes. Punchy, vigorous, just not especially fine. Thick but the tannins are very well hidden. (JR)

Blackberry, violet and dried flower. Light coffee. Full-bodied, rich yet seamless and balanced. Medium-sweet, with a long, long finish. Very beautiful. Even better than I remember. Will improve for decades, but ready. '77/'85/'97 blind Port retrospective. Drink now. 2,100 cases imported. – James Suckling , Wine Spectator 2008

Medium ruby. Shy aromas of black fruits, licorice and spices. Pliant, moderately sweet and medium-bodied; black cherry-dominated flavors are ripe but not overly so. Rather elegantly styled, with ripe acids and supple tannins giving the wine good vinosity and backbone. Finishes with good length and grip.
