Good deep red-ruby. Black raspberry, chocolate and smoked meat on the nose; still a bit reduced as this is on its lees following the recent end of the malolactic fermentation. Sweet and ripe, with good texture and a hint of animal fur. An edge of acidity is apparent, but the finish is persistent.
