The Muller 2005 Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett A.P. #2 displays lovely clover, apple, and nut oil aromatics. In the mouth, this is juicy and refreshing, with ripe peach and baked apple underlain by nut oils and laced with bitter-sweet quinine and floral notes. The overall impression is of clarity and delicacy, with a finish that is impressively persistent while remaining restrained in intensity, with an understated complexity of fruits, nuts, flowers, and slate. Also recommended: 2005 Riesling “Scharzhof” ($ unknown; 86). Importer: Frederick Wildman & Sons, New York, NY; tel. (212) 355-0700

Very pale, watery almost. Great delicacy, feather light. Still quite chewy. Tastes quite dry. Just such lift and satin texture. (JR)
