Raveneau's 2010 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains is showing beautifully, bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of green apples, white flowers, ripe Meyer lemons and wet stones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied and precise but enveloping, with an elegantly textural attack, ripe but racy acids and a long, stony finish. As is often the case, this is among Raveneau's most open and accessible 2010s, and its youthful charm already makes it hard to resist.

A brighter style of wine emerges with the 2010 Chablis Montmains, which is quite a bit more refined than the Forest. The aromas and flavors are beautifully defined in this chiseled, polished Montmains. Lemon, jasmine and crushed rocks are layered into the soft yet vibrant and persistent finish. In 2010, the Montmains is exceptional.
Pale bright yellow. Subdued nose hints at flowers and spices. Bigger and rounder than the Foret, with ripe flavors of pear and spices framed by an edge of saline minerality. Very ripe, sappy premier cru with excellent volume and early drinkability. Finishes spicy and long, with lingering minerality. An excellent showing.
The 2010 Chablis Montmains comes across as quite soft and caressing. White peaches, flowers and spices are layered into the textured, generous finish. This looks to be one of the more accessible 2010s Chez Raveneau.
