Pale straw. Tiny hint of oak on the nose. Tight and restrained. Big and beefy and muscular. This wine goes for maximum impact on the palate. Lots of alcohol but a slight shortage of finesse and subtlety. Certainly there is power, but it is all potential for the moment. It should develop considerably. (JR)

Pure, vibrant aromas of apple, wet stone and white flowers. Wonderfully sweet and concentrated, with fruit-driven flavors of apple, pear, minerals and white flowers. Very dense but vibrant and light on its feet. A beauty.

There is gorgeous richness in the toasty, mineral-laden aromatics of the 2002 Chevalier-Montrachet. This satiny-textured, medium-bodied wine is fleshy, creamy, and plush. Tangy minerals can be found in its long, delineated character. This flavorful, elegant, powerful wine should be drunk between 2006 and 2016. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel.
