The floral aromas of the 2002 Volnay En Caillerets leads to a structured, medium-bodied personality filled with minerals, rocks, blackberries, and black cherries. Bright ruby-red. Noble, nuanced nose combines cherry, smoke, minerals, fresh herbs and mint; with aeration, this showed hints of superripeness. Sweeter and fuller than the Santenay samples but quite light on its feet, with no loss of flavor precision. Finishes with firm but fine tannins, dusty minerality and a late hint of kirsch
