Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Chenevottes 2011 from Philippe Colin has a more floral and feminine bouquet that its peers with subtle touches of white flowers, shaved almond and popcorn that unfolds beautifully in the glass. The palate is clean and fresh with vibrant candied orange peel and citrus lemon. This is well defined and focused with a long and engaging, terroir-driven finish. This is a great Chassagne from Philippe Colin.

Gentle, creamy, rich, almost sweet tasting. Not terribly long. Sweet/sour finish. (JH)
Very cool nose with a lack of intensity. But good fresh crystalline fruit on the palate. This is by far the best wine from this producer of the three tasted chez Flint. Neat finish. Not thrilling but certainly very competent. (JR)
Bright yellow. Reticent, fruit-driven aromas of fresh white peach and lemon oil. Sweet peachy fruit shows very good energy but is still youthfully bound-up, as the wine's acidity currently dominates. The persistent finish shows excellent lemony cut and a faint bitterness. This wine needs time to knit and to reveal its inherent complexity.
