Score 88/100 · Drink 2018-2022, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2018

The 2001 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Rossignol-Trapet reveals an evolving bouquet of espresso roast, dried cherry and fallen leaves, framed by a generous application of minty new oak. On the palate, the wine is sweet, medium to full-bodied and ample, with some mid-palate depth and light tannic grip on the back end. To be consumed in the near term.

Pale ruby. Lifted, ethereal nose. Then very grounded palate. Good balance of fruit and tannins. Good energy and just a tiny bit drying on the end. (JR)
