Medium red. Deeply pitched aromas of raspberry, menthol, mocha and underbrush. Fat and plump but a bit withdrawn, with cool flavors of black cherry and spicy oak. Shows less fruit today than the Latricieres but has more verve and spine. Also tasted: 2003 Beaune Teurons, 2003 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur.

Bright crimson. Lots of bright cherry fruit. Well-managed tannins. Not massive. Pretty good balance. Fresh, not overdone. (JR)
