Tasting notes
Fresh, deep red. Deep, smoky aromas of blackberry, roots and underbrush; smells weighty. Then surprisingly brisk and fresh in the mouth, with well-defined flavors of crushed blackberry, currant and licorice. Finishes long and bright, with excellent lift. Classy, understated wine.

Licorice-imbued blackberries can be detected in the rich aromatics of the 2002 Chambertin. This massive, full-bodied wine slathers the palate with deep, dense waves of ink, sweet tar, black cherries, and licorice. Yet, for all its power and intensity, this beauty is supple, suave, and lush. It is oily-textured, revealing exquisitely ripened tannin in its prolonged, blackberry jam-packed finish.
