Tasting notes
Good full, deep red. Brooding aromas of dark raspberry and mocha. Powerful and penetrating but not showing much flesh today; there's something forbiddingly old-fashioned about this wine's brisk acidity and notes of licorice and minerals. Finishes with strong tannic clout. Is this ripe enough, and will it eventually blossom with time in bottle? Boillot notes that these vines are situated in a cold spot at the top of this vineyard just under the woods, and were picked last in 2006.
