(from vines more than 60 years of age) Good ruby-red, the darkest yet of these 2008s. Slightly reduced but complex nose melds cassis, blackberry, licorice and crushed stone. Densely packed, chewy and quite reserved; in a rather powerful, masculine style, with strong minerality. Finishes penetrating and strong, with a small-berry intensity of flavor. This will need a good six to eight years of cellaring.

Very dark crimson. Next to Lavaut St-Jacques. Cousin of the two Dugats. Racy. Nervy. Some cool influence but very dense too. A bit painful. But well meant. He tells me he has not tasted 2008s from Dugat-Py! (JR)
