Score 92/100 · Drink 2021-2035, Neal Martin, Mar 2023

The 2011 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has much more freshness and vitality compared to the Etelois: perfumed dark berry fruit, cold black tea, crushed stone and orange rind. The palate is medium-bodied with fine body and acidity, slightly leafy with a finely proportioned and reasonably persistent finish. I feel this would benefit from decanting.

Domaine Duroche

Domaine Duroché has, under Pierre Duroché, become one of the most sought-out and respected wine domaines in Gevrey-Chambertin. The wines are delicate and detailed, yet with old-vine intensity, a clear sense of place and style – and it’s easy to see why they’ve rapidly become so in-demand.
