Tasting notes
Piercing, slightly roasted aroma with notably pure fruit. Still slightly fizzy but very fruity and firm. Crackling fresh. Great integrity. Very promising. (JR)

The Chanson 2005 Chambertin Clos de Beze displays a lovely nose of black fruits, tea, citrus zest, rose petal and roasted red meat. Impressively clear and bright in the mouth, this packs in abundant, fine-grained tannin and finishes brightly and authoritatively with blackberry, licorice, black tea, salted, roasted meat, and chalk dust. It seems capable of improving over a 7-10 year period. Also recommended: 2005 Beaune Teurons (85). Importer: Terlato Wines International, Lake Bluff, IL; tel. (847) 604 8900
A ripe and spicy dark berry fruit nose that displays plenty of Gevrey earth and lower register game notes that introduce round, rich, delicious and dusty flavors that possess very good if not truly excellent concentration and ample mid-palate sap on the mouth coating and round finish that delivers very solid length. This is relatively forward for the vintage but it will still be a wine in need of the better part of a decade to arrive at its majority.
