An utterly beguiling nose of smoke and aged fruit that leads to big, muscular, rich, gorgeously nuanced and palate staining flavors that offer huge length and real power. While I have experienced a fair amount of bottle variation with this wine, when it's "on", it is undoubtedly one of the top two or three wines of the vintage. The '93 Montrachet is drinking perfectly now though it will be capable of holding at this level for at least another 5 years and perhaps longer. In sum, this is a classic Montrachet and a profound wine in every respect.
